The United Kingdom recently witnessed history as a Rottweiler named Jessie, owned by Eleanor Usher, gave birth to an immense litter of fifteen healthy puppies. This is the second-largest brood ever recorded in the country and was quite a surprise for Usher and her husband, Ian, who only expected a maximum of five puppies. To make space for the new additions, Ian created an improvised bed for them, and the puppies will be sold in six to eight weeks’ time. Jessie has been fiercely independent, not allowing anyone else to feed her puppies, and as a result, they have been cuddling together quietly at night and feeding frequently from their mother. However, it’s not just her puppies that Jessie is looking after; she has also taken it upon herself to care for the family’s seven-year-old cat, Mini.

SWNS recently shared a photo that depicts the continuous feeding cycle of newborn puppies. Eleanor, a resident of Telford, Shropshire and a mother of four, was surprised to hear scratching sounds coming from the bottom of the stairs at 1:50 am on Sunday. Upon investigating, she discovered that Jessie, their pet dog, had given birth to two puppies – one under the stairs and the other in her bed – without their knowledge. Intrigued by the process, Eleanor and her partner, Ian, decided to observe closely. They couldn’t afford an ultrasound, so they expected only six to eight puppies, but to their surprise, Jessie gave birth to six puppies. Eleanor told Jessie to stop because she had done enough.
The tiny dogs are snuggled up in a cozy spot made from whatever materials are within reach.

The arrival of these little furry creatures was quite unexpected, as the mother gave birth to an impressive litter. Fortunately, the birthing process went smoothly and the owners didn’t need to intervene. To their amazement, the litter consisted of eleven puppies, surpassing the previous UK record of eighteen! The owners were concerned that the number might increase to twenty, but the birthing process concluded at around 8 am. Although two puppies have been christened Daisy and Walter, the other nine are yet to be named due to their similar appearance.
