Secluded and Confined in Cramped Enclosures, Enormous Canine Witnessed her Existence Fade for an Extended Span of Six Years.

For six long years, Angelica and Spud were kept captive in cramped enclosures within a Virginia home, their existence gradually slipping away before their eyes.
Angelica, a Saint Bernard with a neat coat of short hair, faced immense difficulty in finding space to stand or even turn around within the confines of her minuscule cage. Meanwhile, Spud, a lively terrier mix of smaller stature, resorted to spinning around in circles out of sheer restlessness.
Next came the much-anticipated rescue mission, known as Rescue & RemEMBER. This remarkable organization, hailing from Virginia, has dedicated itself to serving as a lifeline for shelter animals on their journey towards finding their forever homes. The team behind Rescue & RemEMBER lovingly refers to their program as a “bridge” for these deserving pets, ensuring they have a smooth transition before embracing a life filled with love and care.
In a heart-wrenching video capturing the first encounter with these two animals, it becomes evident just how neglected they had been. Covered in dirt, their anxiety palpable, and with hunger etched on their frail bodies, their dire situation is truly heartbreaking. Yet, when their cages are finally opened, a glimmer of hope emerges as they seize the opportunity to flee, desperate to leave behind the misery they had endured for far too long.
Eventually, fate would bring them back together. For six long years, they had no one else to rely on, confined to separate jails that prevented any form of communication between them.
Despite being confined to the kitchen of the house they were trapped in, these adorable creatures energetically engage in playful activities, chasing each other and exploring their surroundings as if it were an expansive and unfamiliar world. In collaboration with Knine Rescue, Inc., Rescue & RemEMBER promptly embarked on a mission to secure permanent and loving homes for these endearing beings.
Spud was the lucky one to find his forever home first, and he was warmly welcomed into a loving family who instantly embraced him as a beloved member. Nowadays, Spud relishes the cozy affection of cuddling with his newfound family.
It took slightly more time for Angelica’s adoption process to be completed because of her health troubles, particularly her underdeveloped hind legs. However, she continued to undergo treatment and experienced a remarkable transformation.
Now, Angelica perceives the simple pleasures of life in a whole new light!
