The discovery of Luna shattered my heart…
The female dog had just given birth to 6 adorable pups when tragedy struck. While searching for food, she unknowingly ate poisonous food that had been strategically placed under a nearby vehicle. To make matters worse, the poor mother became stuck and unable to move away from the danger. Eventually, the poison took its toll and the mother dog suffered a terrible fate at the hands of heartless individuals.
A young boy came across Luna in a critical condition. He waited until the person who had left food for her had gone, then contacted Prishtina Dog Shelter. The shelter volunteers rushed to Luna’s aid and found her struggling to breathe. Despite her condition, Luna managed to raise her head and plead for help in saving her puppies. The vet administered an urgent injection to save her life. The team took Luna and her puppies to Prishtina Dog Shelter for care and reunification. Luna was weak and needed rest, but the next day she was ready for her injections. Although she was nervous, she behaved well and was a lovely dog.
The following morning, the veterinarian examined Luna and gave her a clean bill of health. Her puppies were still too young to be put up for adoption, but Luna was doing well. She seemed overjoyed to see them and was very friendly. It was clear that she wasn’t a stray dog, but rather someone had left her behind. The day after Luna was rescued, two other puppies named Nikita and Luna were found abandoned. Despite not being hers, Luna allowed the two orphans to breastfeed. She truly was an amazing mother. After just ten days at the center, Luna and her pups were adopted by a loving family in LA. They were all excited to start their new lives together.
