A video has surfaced showing an old bear happily basking in the sun while taking one of his usual showers, just a month after his retirement from a 25-year career in the circus.
Toshka, once a circus animal performing tricks for crowds, has found a new home at a sanctuary in Satanov, Ukraine. The warm temperatures in Ukraine, reaching up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35C), make the cold water showers a refreshing experience for the bear, who has a thick fur coat designed to withstand colder weather. He has developed a fondness for these showers in the sun, becoming his beloved pastime, as shared by his caregiver. After spending most of his life in the circus, Toshka was transferred to the sanctuary for rehabilitation and care by his previous owner.
He scratched his legs with his paw and lapped at the water, savoring the refreshing droplets that cascaded onto his fluffy coat.
Toshka’s caretaker mentioned that he loves basking in the sun during his showers, describing it as his favorite activity. They shared that Toshka had a difficult time adjusting to human interaction due to his traumatic past in the circus, hiding in the bushes for two weeks initially. However, with the care and affection he received, his fear gradually dissipated. Now, Toshka happily sits in the sun for hours, enjoying the warmth and relaxation it brings him.
