Despite his unique appearance, Chris and Georgina didn’t hesitate to adopt Toby and his pal Quinton after the RSPCA rescued them from a hoarder’s house. According to Georgina, Toby’s condition is caused by defective collagen, which is also found in humans who suffer from the same syndrome.

Toby appears to be having a rough time in the photo, but his owners assure that he is actually a sweet cat who loves to play. Despite being affected by Ehlers Danlos syndrome, Toby’s health hasn’t been too negatively impacted. However, his skin is quite fragile and he tends to get cuts easily. Although he may sometimes make a sad face, he is generally a happy cat who enjoys playing with bouncy balls and shoelaces.
Georgina and Chris welcomed Toby into their home after the RSPCA rescued him from a hoarder’s house. They were happy to provide him with a loving and caring environment.
Due to a lack of collagen, the kitty’s skin lacks the ability to stretch and bounce back, hence the saggy appearance.
Chris, the owner of a cat named Toby, revealed that his pet is often referred to as “sagpuss” due to his aged appearance. Additionally, Toby is known for making exceptionally gloomy facial expressions when he’s unhappy – especially if he’s disturbed during his nap, which he takes frequently throughout the day. According to Chris, Toby’s love for sleeping often clashes with his family’s desire to play with him upon returning home.
Toby’s stay at the hoarder’s house left him extremely frightened and he refused to leave the safety of the bed. According to Chris, a construction worker, it took Toby four weeks to build up the courage to venture out from under the bed due to his anxiety. The reason for his timid behavior is likely due to his previous experiences in the shelter where he was neglected by the other felines. As his new owners, they are relieved that they found him and can provide him with protection against future harm and manage any potential issues related to his EDS.
Georgina and Chris faced a challenging task of settling Toby into their home after he went through a traumatic experience. However, they found that special needs cats like Toby can show an abundance of appreciation and love with patience and time. They hope that Toby’s journey from being a sad cat to a happy one will encourage others to adopt rather than shop for pets. Many cats like Toby and Quinton are still in need of homes, and Georgina and Chris have become incredibly proud of their beloved cats, who have shown bravery and become sweet and loving companions. The couple cherishes their furry friends and finds it the most rewarding thing in the world.
